Au Jus Recipe. The perfect partner for any roast.

Ingredients


beef broth 3 1/2 cups
red wine 1/2 cup
unsalted butter 1/4 cup
salt 1/2 tsp to taste
black pepper 1/4 tsp to taste


Directions

  1. In a sauce pan combine the beef broth and red wine.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  3. Boil for about 10 minutes or until it has reduced by 1/2.
  4. Whisk in the butter.
  5. Add the salt and black pepper to taste.


Notes

If you are making the au jus for a roast. Use the pan drippings and the roasting pan to make this recipe. Strain the pan juices from the roasting pan and skim off any fat. Place the roasting pan on top of your stove top burners and continue with the recipe from step 1.
